Budget cuts are on the agenda when the Illinois General Assembly convenes Friday for a lame duck session. That’s because the state is faced with a four-billion-dollar budget shortfall. Governor Pritzker has asked state agencies to prepare for cuts of up to ten percent by the next fiscal year. Higher state taxes are also possible.
