Lincoln Volleyball

The Vincennes Lincoln Volleyball Team went 1-2 on the day at the Evansville Reitz Invitational.

In match 1, the Lady Alices fell to host Evansville Reitz 16-25, 14-25. Jacklyn Sutton had 5 digs and 4 assists while Macy Taylor had 4 kills and a dig.

In match 2, Lincoln fell to Southridge 26-24, 25-27, 14-16. Taylor had an ace, 9 kills, and 3 digs. Livie Koenig had 7 aces, 3 kills, and 6 digs. Allison Beckert had 3 aces and 10 digs. Sutton had 3 aces, 2 digs, and 12 assists. McKenna Henderson had 4 digs and 16 assists. I

In Match 3, Lincoln defeated Evansville Harrison 22-25, 25-23, 15-10. Henderson had an ace, 2 digs, and 10 assists. Beckert had 2 kills and 10 digs while Sutton had 8 assists. Macy Taylor had 7 kills and 3 digs.

South Knox Soccer

The South Knox Spartans scored a win in their Blue Chip Conference opener on Saturday as they defeated the Northeast Dubois Jeeps 4-2 at home.

The Spartans had a pair of 8th minute goals from Abe Singleton. One of the goals came on a penalty kick while the other was assisted on by Ibai (Ih-bye) Agirre (Uh-gear-A) . The Spartans had 2nd half goals from Jackson Thomas in the 54th minute from Singleton while Singleton completed the hat trick with a goal in the 76th minute on an assist from Agirre.

South Knox is back in action on the pitch Tuesday in Blue Chip Conference action at Wood Memorial.

Vincennes Rivet, South Knox, and North Knox Girls Golf

The Rivet Girls Golf Team took home the top spot in the Rivet Invitation at the Country Club of Old Vincennes Saturday. Evansville Mater Dei was 2nd followed by Barr-Reeve, North Knox, Evansville Memorial, North Posey, North Daviess, and Washington.

For Vincennes Rivet, Maddi Halter shot an 80 overall to finish 2nd overall in the event. Alicia McGuire shot a 92 while Cadence mills and Jacqueline Steininger each carded a 93

For South Knox, Trinity Dubbs was the overall medalist as she carded a 75. Bethany Williams carded an 86 while Salina Dellinger shot a 92. Eliza Dellinger shot a 120.

For North Knox, Brooklyn Sturgeon and Emma Miller each carded a 99. Maddie Becker shot a 100 while Millee Lane scored a 118.

South Knox Boys Tennis

The South Knox Boys Tennis Team made it a clean sweep over Mount Vernon 5-0 Saturday. Nathan Robbins, Hunter Sievers, and Nathan Ruppel won in Singles 1-3. #1 Doubles of Jared Fuller and Evan Dreiman as well as the #2 Doubles of Trevor Lough and Noah Hayden were also victorious.

Around the MLB Saturday, The Cardinals fall at home to the Pittsburgh Pirate 4-3. The Cubs fall at home to the Royals 4-2. Cincinnati downs Miami 7-4.

The Indianapolis Colts downed Minnesota 12-10 on the road in Week 2 of preseason action.
