Gov. Holcomb Signs Election Security Bill into Law

An election security bill has been signed into law in Indiana, taking effect immediately.

The measure signed by Governor Holcomb on Tuesday puts new requirements on all counties in the Hoosier state, and on voters.

Counties must now obtain voting machines that provide a voter-verifiable paper audit trail ahead of the 2024 election.

The new law also requires any voter applying for an absentee ballot online to use the last four digits of their social security number or provide their driver’s license number to verify their identity.
