The Owensville Town Marshall apprehended two attempted burglary suspects Tuesday during a traffic stop on State Road 65 near Water Tower Road.
He pulled over a pick-up truck with no headlights and two flat tires.
The occupants, 24-year-old Zachary Burns of Fort Branch and 26-year-old Justin Prater of Mt. Carmel, claimed they were just shot at.
It turns out, the two had just been involved in an attempted burglary and had two tires shot out by the homeowner’s grandson.
Both men were arrested for Attempted Burglary, Trespass, Possession of Marijuana, and Attempted Theft.
