The Knox County Commissioners heard from Burkhart Insurance on information for next year’s insurance. Darren Cantwell appeared on behalf of Burkhart Insurance at the meeting and announced that the county would save up to 8% on their insurance over the next year on a switch to Liberty Mutual Insurance. The county saw a 210% increase in Cybersecurity Insurance however. According to Cantwell, Knox County isn’t the only county seeing this jump in cybersecurity rates. The insurance renewal that was discussed was for general liability, auto, work compensation, property, crime, disability, bond, equipment, and cyber liability. The total was for $489,465. The policy was accepted 2-0 with Commissioner, Trent Hinkle not in attendance.
