Three Killed in West Virginia Plane Crash; Plane Departed Daviess Co., IN Airport

Three people were killed Thursday when a small plane flying from Daviess County, Indiana to Myerstown, Pennsylvania crashed in northern West Virginia.

The single-engine plane went down in a wooded area in the Marion County community of Metz, about 90 miles south of Pittsburgh.

No word yet on the identities of those killed.

The plane is owned by Skyhawk Associates LLC of Myerstown , Pennsylvania.

According to Fox-8 WGHP in Greensboro, North Carolina, FlightAware reported the aircraft leaving the Daviess County Airport Thursday at 3:43 PM headed to Myerstown, Pennsylvania.

Fox 8 reports there were severe storms in the area at the time of the crash.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
