Sunday Sports Recap

The South Knox Spartans are 2-0 following a 56-50 win over Evansville Harrison as a part of the Gobbler Games at Rose Hulman Institute of Technology on Saturday. Dylan Maeder scored a career high 17 to lead South Knox in the victory. Dakota Candler added 15 while Sam Singleton and Jackson Hoops each chipped in 11. South Knox is back in action Friday at home against North Knox.

The Vincennes Rivet Patriots slipped to 0-2 on the season as they fell 61-48 at Shakamak. Tommy Herman led Rivet with 29 points while Isaac Kotter added 19. Rivet is back in action for Homecoming on Saturday with Medora.

Evansville North defeated Princeton 85-62
Sullivan cruised past Eastern Greene 64-24

At the Loogootee Tournament, Loogootee went 1-1 as they defeated Evansville Day School 75-46 and fell to Evansville Christian 60-51.

At the Gobbler Classic, North Central defeated North Vermillion in double OT 52-49, Bloomfield beat Mitchell 82-48, Linton defeated Northview 76-44, and North Daviess pulled away from Terre Haute North 57-46.

 

The Vincennes Lincoln Alices fell at Adam’s Coliseum Saturday to the Panthers of Corydon Central 50-27. With the loss, the Lady Alices fall to 4-3. They travel to Gibson Southern on Tuesday.

Eastern Greene defeated North Central 44-36
Evansville North crushed New Albany 63-38
Indian Creek downed Sullivan 58-36
Linton squeeked past Washington 44-40
Owen Valley snuck past Bloomfield 42-38

At the Castle-Memorial Classic,
Evansville Memorial won 2 games, downing Edwardsville, IL 59-27 and O’Fallon, IL 63-58.
Castle lost 2 games, Falling to O’Fallon 57-34 and to Edwardsville 48-46.

IHSAA Football State Finals concluded Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium.
In Class 1A, Indianapolis Lutheran downed Adams Central 30-13
In Class 3A, Indianapolis Chatard downed Lawrenceburg 34-14
In Class 5A, Valparaiso defeated Whiteland 35-31.

 

Indiana was up 7-3 at halftime, but Purdue outscored Indiana 23-9 in the 2nd half to defeat the Hoosiers 30-16 and winning the Big 10 West Division. It is the first time in school history Purdue has won their division. With the win, Purdue is 8-4 and will face 12-0 Michigan at Lucas Oil Stadium for the Big 10 Title on Saturday at 7:30.

 

The Indiana Pacers are back home this afternoon with the LA Clippers. That is a 4 PM tip. You can catch that game on 106.5 FM WWBL. The Colts play Monday Night Football tomorrow at home with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Tomorrow’s Colts game can be heard on 92.1 WZDM and 106.5 FM WWBL.
