A rough estimate is in place that 30-thousand people visited Knox County for the eclipse weekend.  The weekend ended with Monday’s total eclipse just after 3 pm.
Vincennes City Council president Brian Grove says those visitors came from many states– and countries– to witness the celestial event in Vincennes and Knox County.  The final total was less than  a possible crowd of 100-thousand in Vincennes; however, Grove is glad they over-prepared rather than the alternative.
Various major cities on the eclipse path helped spread out the eclipse watching crowds  The eclipse cut across Texas and traveled northeastward through 16 states–with the last U-S state experiencing the eclipse being Maine.
