Indiana First Group Gets READI for Fund Usage

grants-109x94
The Indiana First READI group– representing Knox, Pike and three other counties– has received 15 million dollars for its regional endeavors.  The Indiana First region is led by the Southwest Indiana Development Council.
In Knox County, one of the largest fund uses is for home development.  A recent study shows the County is in dire need of housing to reverse a loss of population over the last few decades.
Other area awards include 30 million dollars for the Indiana Uplands area– including Daviess, Greene, and Martin counties; 45 million dollars for the Southwest Indiana region– including Gibson County; and ten million dollars for the Wabash River region– including Sullivan County.
Various regions will use the funds for various community improvement projects. Each county has its own list of improvements for funding by the overall READI grant.
