The Knox County Council has agreed to a 200-thousand dollar extra payout on the Old U-S 41 bridge replacement project. The project put a new bridge in over the C-S-X tracks just south of Oaktown.
The added amount is to cover unexpected expenses for the project. The bridge is now open to traffic, after a long period of closure.
