The Knox County Chamber of Commerce has named the A-M-E Group as its Large Business of the Year. The group is headquartered at 619 Main Street in downtown Vincennes; it also has eleven other offices around Indiana and across the South and Midwest. Overall, the group employs about 200 people nationwide.
The group started its work in 1985 at 414 Main Street in Vincennes. In 2008, A-M-E group became 100 percent employee-owned. The group, formerly known as Advanced Micro-Electronics, is considered an information technology– or I-T- leader.
The A-M-E Group will be one of seven award winners to be honored at a May first banquet at the Highland Woods Community Center. The award celebration wil begin that evening at six-30.
