Less than a month remains before cops and kids across Knox County go on an annual shopping spree at the Vincennes Wal-Mart. The annual “Shop with a Cop” will happen on the morning of Tuesday, December tenth. The officers will shop with kids involved in the PACE Head Start program.
Vincennes Police Chief Jon Hillenbrand has been a participant in the Shop with a Cop event over the years. He says the list of police and other officials come from across the county– and beyond. Others involved include Vincennes University police, along with high schoolers from across the county. Many have donated to Shop with a Cop this year; Hillenbrand reminds everyone every dedicated dollar they get goes to the cause.
After the shopping is complete, both cops and kids alike will enjoy a catered lunch, before returning back to their destiations.
