The annual Vincennes Shop with a Cop brought a lot of smiles to faces young and old yesterday. The annual event is a shopping spree for preschoolers from Head Start locations in Vincennes and Bicknell.
Vincennes Police Chief Jon Hillenbrand says even though the day is about the kids, it also in a sense turned into a celebration of law enforcement. Chief Hillenbrand states a whole gaggle of law enforcement groups joined together to shop with the kids yesterday.
In all, around 110 kids spents around 250 dollars each on various toys and clothes for this year’s Christmas shopping event. The funding for Shop with a Cop is provided by individual and corporate donations to the program.
