Vincennes Community Schools officials laid out a planned three-phase set of improvements for various Corporation schools The proposal was publicized again yesterday as part of a planned public hearing on the proposed project. The work’s primary focus will be at Lincoln High School, with some work possible at Clark Middle School and also at the Washington Learning Academy. Furher upgrades are also possible at various playground and sports facilities.
The biggest project would be a roof replacement at Lincoln High School. That would happen in the first phase. Other Phase One work includes some updates at Alice Arena and the playground at Franklin Elementary. Other playground and sports-related work is also possible at both Clark Middle School. Finally, a property purchase and façade work is possible at Washington Learning Academy. Phases two and three would focus on various projects in and around Clark Middle School and Lincoln High School.
The final project total would be for 15 and a half million dollars consecutively over the next three years. V-C-S-C superintendent Greg Parsley is proposing to pay for the work with Debt Service funds over that three year period. Parsley told those attending and the Board the play is to maximize the amount in the Debt Service fund to pay for the renovations.
Since it was a public hearing, no action was taken on the proposal at this time.
