Even though planting season is still at least two months away, Monday’s springlike weather has many thinking toward the start of growing season.
Knox County Purdue Extension educator Valerie Clingerman says Knox County’s unique location allows them to grow a lot of varied crops. Also, Clingerman believes this area’s setup is also important for growth of this area’s signature melon crops.
Many farmers want a soil temperature of 55 degrees or higher before planting thir main items, like corn or soybeans.
