Vincennes-based TerraForce Ag is working with extra funding to work on its ideal for a robotic harvester. The company has received 375-thousand dollars in oversubscribed money to use artificial intelligence for the automated machine.
TerraForce C-E-O Mike Jacob feels the new harvester can be a game-changer for watermelon and pumpkin farmers, Jacob also forsees a way to use the A-I based machine to help farmers with planting, as well as harvesting.
Jacob believes the robotic equipment could help farmers save on labor cost, and also help with a shortage of farm workers.
