The Vincennes City Council has approved a ten-year, 60 percent a year tax abatement for real property on the site of the future Bierhaus Flats subdivision. The approval was for a preliminary resolution; a public hearing and final vote is still to come on the pending document.
Vincennes City Council president Brian Grove believes even with the tax abatement, the City will be a whole lot of money ahead on the plan. Grove also reminds everyone City officials will also do prep work to ensure the complex is up and ready when it opens.
Grove also estimates with families in those units, it could add a significant population base to the City of Vincennes.
