With colder temperatures arriving, the American Red Cross urges you not to use your oven to heat your home.
Using an oven or generator indoors can release harmful pollutants and create dangerous carbon monoxide levels throughout your home. It can also start a fire.
Tips for staying warm indoors include wearing several thin layers and cozy socks.; using a space heater but keeping it off of carpet; sealing door drafts with a towel or an old blanket; reversing the motion of your ceiling fan; and, opening your curtains or shades during the day to let natural light and heat in.
Also, you can call 2-1-1 to find a nearby warming center.
