Proposed legislation to break up certain Indiana school districts is failing to advance at the Indiana Statehouse. House Bill 1136 would have dissolved school districts where less than half of the child residents attended in-district schools. The impacted districts would have been turned into charter schools, under the measure. The bill did not make it out of the House Education Committee.
