Indiana Governor Mike Braun signed a bill banning advertising marijuana in the state, effective immediately. The ban, included in House Bill 1390, aims to address the issue of neighboring states advertising marijuana products to Indiana residents.
The ban covers all mediums, including physical advertising, social media, web ads, and geo-targeted promotions. Existing advertising agreements will remain legal until 2035, with fines starting at $5,000 for violations. The Indiana Attorney General’s Office will enforce the new law.
