The Vincennes Community School Board held its public hearing last night on its 2026 budget proposal. This year’s budget is advertised at just over 44 million dollars—a just over 4.2 million dollars over the actual 2025 budget amount. Of that final total, 24.8 million dollars is for Education fund, with over 10.6 million for Operations.
The advertised property tax is a dollar 32 per 100 dollars in assessed property value. That is expected to be adjusted downward more toward last year’s final rate of just over 91 cents per hundred. This year’s final actual budget total came in around 38.8 million dollars.
Board members are scheduled to review the budget for possible final passage at its October session.
