The Knox County Salvation Army is already signing up volunteer individuals and groups for bell-ringing duties this Christmas season. The bell-ringing goes along with the annual Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign at various retail outlets across Knox County.
Knox County Salvation Army commander Joey Gates says the kettles are coming to the participating stores within a month’s time. Gates also reminds us next month is the renewal of one of the season’s biggest red kettle fund-raising events– the Vincennes Fire Department versus the City Police and Knox County Sheriff’s Departments.
Other challenge campaigns include the annual City versus County bell ringing competition, as well as the annual Rotary vs. Kiwanis bell battle. All of the challenges will be headquartered at the front doors of the Vincennes Wal-Mart.
