The Knox County Council is readying its final 2025 budget for state approval. The budget for next year is set at 22 million dollars.
All Indiana government officials are looking at the impact of property tax cuts on their budgets, starting in 2027. County Council president Mike Morris knows that has caused some restraint in what is otherwise a good budget.
Morris says this week is the deadline for the final budget to be approved for final submission to the state’s Department of Local Government Finance.
As has been the case in recent years, the state review is expected to be done in plenty of time to get the budget in place for the coming calendar year.
