Today is the start of signups for various Knox County Salvation Army seasonal programs. This is the first day of allowed applications for the Christmas food program and Santa’s Toy Shop. It is also the first distribution day for coats collected in the “Coats for Kids” campaign.
Knox County Salvation Army captain Joey Gates says this year’s registration is later than normal.
In addition, the Knox County Salvation Army’s kettle campaign will begin earlier—with an early-November start planned. Volunteer bell ringers are needed; you can sign up for bell ringing slots through registertoring.com.
