The Vincennes City Council has approved the 2026 City salary ordinance for City officers—including members of the City Police and Fire Departments. The salary ordinance is passed separate from the annual City budget.
Vincennes City Council president Brian Grove is glad to say City workers, at the minimum, have kept up with the cost of living… Grove knows it can cost less to keep a policeman or fireman on staff, than to constantly bring new people onto the Departments.
The new salary schedule will go into effect with the rest of the City budget at the start of next year.
