A January ninth sentencing hearing is set for Dylan Smith in the murder of 30 year-old Taylor Hendershot. In a change of plea hearing, Smith admitted to taking the life of Hendershot in an August fifth shooting that happened in a Sixth Street parking lot. The plea was accepted by Knox Circuit Court Judge Monica Gilmore.
A plea agreement signed by both sides calls for a 60-year sentence without possibility of either appeal or modification. The January ninth sentencing is set for 1 pm in Knox Circuit Court.
