Nina Mahan, 64, of Loogootee, and formerly of Bicknell, passed away on November 9, 2025, in Loogootee, Indiana, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on January 4, 1961, in Vincennes, Indiana, Nina was a beacon of joy and kindness to all who knew her.
The beloved daughter of the late Robert Mahan Sr. and Grace Early Strahley, Nina inherited a legacy of strong family values and community spirit. Nina’s light will continue to shine through her devoted sister Linda Meredith, and her caring brother, Robert Mahan Jr. (Patricia), who will keep her memory alive. Though she was preceded in departure by her brothers, Tommy Mahan and her brother-in-law, Richard Mahan, the stories and the laughter they shared will forever echo in the hearts of friends and family.
Nina’s faith was a cornerstone of her life, reflected in her years of dedicated service to the Bicknell Baptist Church. A familiar face in the church choir and the Pricilla Circle, she found solace and purpose in the melodies of praise and the camaraderie of her fellow church members. Nina’s passion for singing resonated deeply within the church walls, lifting the spirits of all who heard her.Beyond her spiritual home at church, Nina cherished the simple pleasures of life. Her love for bingo became one of her more joyful pursuits in recent years.
Nina’s presence was a gift to everyone she encountered. She was the kind of person who entered a room and brought light with her smile and warmth with her kindness. With her parting, our community has lost a truly special soul. Nina cultivated beauty and kindness wherever she went, and her legacy is a testament to the impact one life can have when lived with love, service, and a song in one’s heart.
