A Bloomfield man was rescued Wednesday following a boat accident on a reservoir in the Greene-Sullivan State Forest.
The boat was occupied by two men—35 year-old Cloeman Chasteen and 25 year-old David Thornton of Bloomfield—when it capsized. A third man, 25 yyear-old Kyle Britton of Bloomfield, was stranded in a nearby kayak.
Chasteen was able to swim to a nearby island. He was wearing a life jacket; after he made it to the island he gave the jacket to Thornton. Indiana Conservation officers rescued Britton; he was to an Indianapolis hospital for further treatment. He is currently conscious and alert, despite prolonged exposure to cold water.
The three men were waterfowl hunting on the reservoir when the boat incident happened.
