The Vincennes City Council is looking to keep employee raises in the budget for next year and beyond. The task will be tougher, with property tax cuts put in place through state Legislative activity.
Vincennes City Councilman Marc McNeece gives the main concern for him and fellow Council members in 2027 and beyond. McNeece also knows regardless of lost City revenue from the cuts, the regular raises are needed to recruit and keep good people in key positions.
The departments will get raises for the budget already set for next year. The question mark on budget funding happens with the municipal and county budgets for 2027.
