The Vincennes Redevelopment Commission has donated 16-thousand 500 dollars again this year to the Vincennes Tree Board. The donation is the same as the R-D-C gave last year for the Board’s City tree planting and maintenance mission.
Dennis Kordes is with the Vincennes Tree Board. He says part of the plans for this year is to get Vincennes renamed as a Tree City. Kordes believes being a Tree City could lead to more tree-planting and maintenance opportunities.
The Tree Board is responsible for planting and maintaining trees on the City rights of way. However, they can also help with tree planting in private property as well, at the landowners’ request.
