The Knox County Council is still finding ways to adjust to major tax changes coming in the next two years for Indiana’s county and municipal governments. Council members are struggling with both a loss of revenue from tax cuts, starting next year, and possible placement of a wheel tax on County vehicles. The State of Indiana has tied that to a preferred grant of paving and infrastructure dollars.
Knox County Council president Mike Morris feels it is a no-win situation for both.
Council officials are hoping to get some clarity during the current Legislative session. However, at this time, n concrete adjustments have been pushed through the Indiana General Assembly.
