The City of Vincennes continues overseeing the work on two under-construction housing developments. Both Bierhaus Flats and Broadw3ay Place continue moving toward at least partial occupancy at this time.
Bierhaus Flats will be a 200-plus residence complex on Bierhaus Boulevard. Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum expects move-ins to start soon, and fill to capacity as soon as the full complex is complete. The Broadway Place subdivision is being built near 15th and Broadway. It was originally a single-family set of houses, but Mayor Yochum says in light of a housing shortage, the contractor expanded the plan to include doplexes.
Those two projects—and others in the pipeline right now—are part of a call by City officials to expand and improve the City’s housing stock.
