Some flooding will be the rule on the White River at both Edwardsport and Petersburg through the next few days.
The White at Edwarsport will top out tomorrow around two feet over flood stage. Downriver at Petersburg, the White will hit a high of five feet over flood stage. Both are considered to be in minor flood stages.
On the Wabash, the river at Mount Carmel will be at or just above flood stage later in the weekend into early next week. The Wabash at Vincennes will approach flood stage, but stay just below it. The Embarras River at Lawrenceville is about to top out just over flood stage this weekend.
Only one state road is affected by flooding right now—that is State Road 257, closed at the Pike-Daviess County border.
Drivers are reminded not to cross flooded roadwasy. The adage to remember is “turn around, don’t drown.”
