Knox County Commissioner Kellie Streeter has been projected the Republican winner in District 45 over longtime incumbent Bruce Borders. As of this morning, with 90 percent of the vote recorded, Streeter gathered 53 percent of the vote, to Borders’ 47 percent.
Streeter now faces a November challenge from Democrat Rebecca Mayfield. Streeter thanks all the great people who worked for her, and helped her unseat Borders.
Streeter points to three issues—energy, farmland preservation, and property taxes—as issues she would address if she is elected in Novemberl
Streeter will vacate her Commissioners’ seat to run for the District 45 State Representative position. In the Republican race for that spot, Matt Hoffman defeated Rich Chattin to take that nomination.
