With summer heat on the horizon, Duke Energy is rolling out new tools to help Indiana customers lower their electric bills. A new “Smart Usage Option” allows residents to save money by shifting high-energy chores—like laundry or EV charging—to off-peak hours.
The utility is also launching “energy spike alerts” to notify customers via email if their daily usage suddenly jumps to five times its normal rate, helping spot malfunctioning appliances early.
