The American Red Cross is warning of a nationwide blood shortage.
It has declared its second national blood supply crisis.
Donations are at a four-year summer low, leaving less than a one-day supply of type O-positive blood.
Officials urge eligible donors of all blood types to schedule an appointment.
Two Daviess County blood drives are set this week.
The first is Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Daviess County Family YMCA, 405 Northeast 3rd Street in Washington.
The second is Friday from 1 to 7 p.m. at First Mennonite Church, 8002 East 550 North in Montgomery.
To make an appointment, go to redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED-CROSS.
