The City of Vincennes, and Vincennes Water Utilities, continues looking at a possible rate raise at this time. The issue has been considered for months, but no action has been made yet.
Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum says a rate increase would cover the increasing cost for various V-W-U projects. Mayor Yochum also expects action on that issue sooner rather than later,
The City is also looking at a possible payment in lieu of taxes—or PILOT—from Vincennes Water Utilities. However, a rate increase, and a delay in state income tax cuts, could mean a much lower PILOT request from the City’s water utility.
