The City of Vincennes is still working with Indiana Department of Transportation officials on Phase Two of the Washington Avenue project. That phase will extend Washington Avenue renovations from Emison Avenue up to, and including, the intersection with Saint Clair Street.
Vincennes City Engineer John Sprague says utility work continues, along with work through the construction contractor selected by INDOT. Sprague also informs us as electric relocation ends, gas line relocation is just now beginning.
That stretch of Washington Avenue is expected to be closed to traffic, once renovation work begins next year. However, those with homes and businesses on that part of Washington Avenue will still have access to their properties.
