The United Way of Knox County Days of Caring will happen again this year on Thursday and Friday, September 17th and 18th. The two-day event is a chance to help various United Way funded agencies with various things they need around their property. It also contains a two-day food drive to help various food pantries across the county.
United Way of Knox County director Scott Charleston says everyone can volunteer—even if for just 60 minutes. Some of the Days of Caring assistance does take more time. However, Charleston knows there are willing volunteers to help with the larger projects too.
Last year, over 500 people stepped up to help out in one way or another. Various businesses have also made it a volunteer day—including longtime backer Old National Bank.
