Work to start placement of the Memorial Bridge columns back in place could take place by the end of the year. The bridge connecting Vincennes and Westport, Illinois is under the authority of the George Rogers Clark National Park
G-R-C chief ranger Joe Herron is not ruling out a late-year start to the work—depending on INDOT’s go-ahead. Even if work does begin later this year, Herron expects the façade work to affect Memorial Bridge traffic into 2027.
Crews have been working hard on re-mounting the bridge, after years of waiting for authority to clean the façade stones, and to put them back into place.
