The Knox County Sheriff’s Department currently has openings for a couple of officers to serve in the Knox County Jail. The facility is located on Old Decker Road, just south of Vincennes.
Knox County Chief Deputy Sheriff John Fuller says being a jail officer is a good first step toward becoming a Department road deputy. Fuller advises those interested in a position to just stop by and start the process in person.
Jail staff has been at capacity in the last few years. Better pay and benefits have made the job a more attractive option at this time.
