Illinois Governor J-B Pritzker is announcing a new plan to help prevent a resurgence of covid-19 in the state.
The plan breaks Illinois into 11 regions instead of the original four, separating Chicago, suburban Cook County, the Metro East area and more.
The governor says it also creates new metrics.
If a region sees a resurgence, restrictions could be put back in place such as only allowing outdoor dining, suspending elective surgeries and greater limits on gatherings in that area.
