Every 2 seconds someone in the United States needs blood. The Knox County Health Department is partnering with Versiti Blood Center of America to host its first community blood drive on Thursday, June 27th from 9 am-11 am in the parking lot of the Bierhaus Building at 328 N. 2nd Street, Vincennes.
Versiti is the primary provider of blood products to Good Samaritan our local community hospital and has been providing blood services and products to local hospitals since 1952.
If you are 17 years of age and in good health, weigh at least 110 pounds and have not donated blood in the past 8 weeks you are most likely eligible to donate! If you have been deferred in the past it is usually for a temporary issue such as low blood pressure or low iron level. Deferred is not deterred! You can try again to donate!
