Vincennes Approves New Ordinance On Grass Clippings

The City of Vincennes has a new ordinance against blowing grass clippings onto City streets.  The Vincennes City Council passed the ordinance on second and third readings last night.
The new ordinance bans grass clippings, trash, or other debris from being intentionally blown onto City streets.  Council members cited safety and beautification issues in the decision.  They also pointed to clippings clogging up storm sewer inlets, leading to ponding water during major rain events.
Council members approved the final ordinance unanimously.  The new ordinance goes into effect immediately.
