Trailblazers and Statesmen Mens Teams Both Survive

On the Mens Side, it took overtime for the VU Blazers to pick up a 98-92 win over Kaskaskia. By far, it was the closest game of the year for the Blazers as VU was only up by 1 at half, 43-42. Lony Francis Jr. had another 30 point plus effort, scoring 31 in the contest. Keith Clemons had 21, including a big 3 with under 2 minutes to play in the overtime period that helped Vincennes pull away. George Dixon also scored 21 for Vincennes, giving him a new career high for the Blazers. The VU men are off until December 17th when they travel to Lincoln Trail for a showdown with the Statesmen.

The Statesmen of Lincoln Trail held on for a 94-90 win at the Dungeon against Olney Central to give the Blue Knights their first loss of the season. The win Saturday was the first for Lincoln Trail since 2015 against the Knights in Olney. Casius Bell Jr. led Lincoln Trail in scoring with 22 points, filling in for the injured Dante Combs. Jaylon Holmes had 19 while Justin Williams chipped in 18, as Lincoln Trail improved to 9-1. Olney Central was led by Jalen Moore with 19 points in the defeat. Davion Williams and Wade Coomer added 15 a piece for 10-1 Olney Central. Both teams are tied at 3-1 in GRAC play. Lincoln Trail is off until next Monday at home with Vincennes. Olney Central is back home Tuesday with Indiana Elite Prep.
