A caucus will be held Monday, January 21st, to fill a Vincennes City Council spot opened by the death of Councilman Jim Westfall. Westfall passed away on Christmas Eve in Indianapolis.
The caucus will be at I’mpressed Coffee House at eleven a-m that day. The replacement will be decided by the party representatives from the two precincts represented by the late Councilman Westfall.
Right now, one person who lives in the district has filed to fill Westfall’s unexpired term. Anyone else interested in the position, who lives in the City’s Second District, is encouraged to file for the caucus. The deadline to file for the position is on Monday at 12 noon.
The person chosen to fill the seat will serve for the rest of this year. The seat will be part of the City Council balloting for this year’s Vincennes municipal election.
