Indiana legislators are working to make sure schools are safe for Hoosier children.
House Speaker Brian Bosma says HB 1004 is focusing on mental wellness for students as well as funding for safety programs.
The proposal is being spearheaded by State Representative Wendy McNamara, with recommendations from Governor Eric Holcomb and the state’s school safety task force.
It aims to provide flexibility for school safety matching grants so that increased appropriations can continue to protect Indiana’s youth.
