What is the safest city in the state?
A new study by Alarms-dot-org took crime data compiled by the FBI and says the town of Dyer in Lake County is the safest in the state.
Carmel is number-2 on the list followed by St. John and Crown Point, both of which are also in Lake County, and then Jasper in Dubois County rounds out the top
five.
Researcher Amanda Palumbo said overall property crime is down in Indiana, but that violent crime is on the rise.
