Governor Eric Holcomb is leaving the door open a crack to a cigarette tax hike.
Holcomb’s budget director told a House committee this week the governor doesn’t support the tax hike.
Holcomb says it’s more accurate to say it’s not on his agenda.
He says he’d assess the idea if it reached his desk — but he says he’s not seeing any signs the legislature is interested either.
The House has three-and-a-half weeks left to approve bills in committee.
