The Linton Miners got out to a 9-0 early lead, and held on late to defeat the North Knox Lady Warriors 45-34 in the North Knox Sectional.
Linton led by 16 after three, but Makinzi Meurer single-handedly took over for the Lady Warriors in the fourth quarter, scoring all 20 North Knox points. North Knox was able to get within 4 in the final two minutes of the game, but a late run by the Lady Miners pushed them to victory.
Haley Rose and Ashley Burgess led with 11 apiece for Linton; Meurer had 29 of North Knox’s 34 points. The Lady Warriors end the season at 16-8.
